恶灵08

Has my title spoilt the festive season? This sound so pessimistic, yet I believe will know what I am going to blog about…. This is somewhat every blogger favourite topic or rather a must-blog-subject towards the end of the year.

Turn back the clock and re-evaluate the year. Undoubtedly 2008 seems to be gloomed with curses. It is a bad year on the whole.
However the curses didn't seem to affect me much and in fact it turned out to be rather a good year for me as I had achieved many goals during the time of tides.

A peep In a Hole of Odinchoy’s 2008

-I got the thing which they claim all men must possess, a Driving License. The license to allow me to drive carefully, pay ERP, and pay real attention to the parking fee in various places and learnt how not to get caught for illegal parking.

-Got a JOB, A serious job… I am serious~ no one think I am serious in the first place or they are doubting my ability, but I am surviving well and most importantly I do not hate it.

-I got my travel opportunities! From Taiwan to Australia to the most recent Japan! Especially Japan trip; That is listed in my own ‘The Things to do Before I Die’.
So now I can die? *Choy Choy*
My next thing to do before i die is to go Japan again!

I will not grow mad if people describe me as crazy. But I am the type of person who will rather spend money on travelling than paying car installment or owing branded stuff.
I believe there are some things that need to be accomplished before I grew old and that’s free-and-easy travel which involve a lot of walking. I really enjoy the exploration of a new city in a new country and dig out as much surprises as I can.
(yes, the update of Japan Trip is on its way)

-I actually passed my IPPT about 2 weeks ago after failing it for 5 years. Haha~ late night jogging do help. However I think I have injured my right knee which pained occasionally. Frankly speaking the pain somehow worsened during the intensive walking around Tokyo recently.

Overall there is more joy than sorrow. I have gradually returned to my calmer side with occasional possession of raging beast. My turning point of life does not happened to be a sharp one but a somewhat smooth arc one.
Although I never struck lottery or become a millionaire, all of the above is enough to make my good year. I am contented.

A Glimpse at the Singapore’s 2008

-There was a shortage of food.  The price of our everyday groceries fluctuates throughout the year. The overpriced rice once triggered the people’s kiasuism; we once wondering whether are we going to change our diet, switching into other carbo supply?

-The soaring price of fuel gave headache to the drivers. Even taxis added the 30 cents fuel subcharge because of that which is eventually lifted off after the price of the fuel returned to normal.

-Whenever we want to admire our skyline and cityview, our views will be blocked by this obstruction called ERP.
ERP, the most high-tech money-eating gateway began to sprout all over Singapore. Drivers just hate the sound Tee. ‘Tee’ simply means “Money is Gone… hahaha!”

-I must say, I have overestimated the capability of our police and army. Mas Selamat is still at large! And its been taking so long that we began to slacken down on looking out for this Singapore’s most wanted criminal.

-Our very own ‘London Eye’ Singapore Flyer started rotating since February this year!
And just yesterday Singapore Flyer made headlines as it encountered power disruption which trapped the people for 6 hours.

-We won the bid of hosting the Youth Olympic 2010!!! It just sounds incredible that we are hosting Olympic Games.

-Our female table tennis trio won Olympic Silver Medal! However it further turned ugly when someone made a big fuss about wanting to sack a coach for not turning up for a Men Table Tennis match.

-We not only hosted F1 Grand Prix, we also host the first-ever Night Race! The roar of engine echoed among the towering buildings of the CBD area and no one mind the smell of burning rubber which filled the air. We not only show the world we are capable of transforming everyday streets into racing tracks, we also make the world amazed by our very own beautiful lighted city in the night.

-The size of Singapore is getting larger. Thanks to the small island which housed the zebra-striped lighthouse-- Pedra Branca. Once again, light is shed~~

-For once we can feel the terror of the terrorism; Its a tragedy in Mumbai. The innocent life of a Singaporean lawyer was ended just because people want to get violent and kill kill kill...

A Bird-Eye View at the World’s 2008

-Edison Chen proved himself to be a gifted photographer. His series of photos became a sensational hit and netizens were all frenzy over getting them. Furthermore he had taught us valuable lesson, ‘deleting file doesn’t mean making file disappear forever.’

-China wants the whole world to pay attention to them. They did it in the year 2008. All good things and bad things happened there.

First of all is the protest of the Tibetians who want independence.
Then the tragic Sze Chuan Earthquake which claimed many lives and led to many more homeless.
Before the Olympic, there were news about boycott and discriminations towards the country.
However Beijing Olympic 2008 was in fact a grand one. It re-established the status of China on the globe. They have proven to the  world their capability.
And yes, they are indeed capable. Who can think of putting melamine into milk? Only PRCs I think.

-US election 2008 is a series of versus game. Obama made history to be the first African American President. It was a long battle to get to this stage. The saga between Obama and Hilary vie for the candidate of the Demographic Party was already a fierce fight. Then Obama met McCain, with a guest-star female fighter Palin… and Obama braved his way through.
I actually have faith in him, and believed that he can do better than George W Bush who was recently attacked by the Iraq shoes.

-The greatest concern around the world is undoubtedly the Economic Crisis. All started from Lehman Brothers Holding which filed for bankruptcy. This led to an uncontrollable tailspin on the global economy, and made us experience recession, Or do we really feel the impact? I am still seeing a long queue outside LV boutique of Ngee Ann City.

Oh, its Christmas already… ok, lets get festive. Hereby I wish you all Merry Christmas! Has Santa Claus visited you? No? Well, not to be blame. We do not have chimneys on the roof. And do not expect him to climb up from the rubbish chute…
